It's time for the SIXTH ANNUAL October Movie Screening Challenge! That's right – this is the sixth year in a row we at HorrorHound have pieced and posted a screening guide for how to plan out your spooky season! The challenge is simple: you to watch one horror film each day of October featuring the following plot devices, characters, or particulars .... what film you watch is up to you, as long as it involves the following each day:
October 1: Watch a movie that takes place ON Halloween.
October 2: It's World Farm Animals Day. Watch a animal-attack horror film.
October 3: Let someone else pick the horror film you watch today!
October 4: Watch a horror movie remake.
October 5: Watch an anthology horror film.
October 6: Watch a black and white horror movie.
October 7: Google the word "horror movie" with your first name. Pick a film from the search results.
October 8: Watch a film that you've never seen before.
October 9: Watch a horror movie that features a masked killer.
October 10: Watch something directed by either Wes Craven, John Carpenter, or Lucio Fulci.
October 11: R.I.P. John Saxon. Watch a film John Saxon starred in.
October 12: It's Columbus Day! Watch a Holiday Horror Film.
October 13: The Friday the 13th Collection hits Blu-ray today! Watch a Friday film!
October 14: Watch a movie from the 2010s.
October 15: Watch something you consider "trashy."
October 16: "Damn you Covid!!!" Watch a pandemic-related horror film.
October 17: It's Sweetest Day. Watch a romantic(ish) horror film.
October 18: Watch any horror film on Netflix. *
October 19: Watch a movie Shout! Factory released onto Home Video!
October 20: R.I.P. Joel Schumacher. Watch The Lost Boys.
October 21: We miss theaters too. Re-watch the first horror film you remember seeing in a theater.
October 22: Watch something directed by either Dario Argento, Sam Raimi, or Tobe Hooper.
October 23: Watch a foreign-language horror movie.
October 24: Dust off an old movie from your DVD collection and give it a spin.
October 25: Watch any horror film on Shudder. *
October 26: Watch a horror movie sequel!
October 27: R.I.P. Max von Sydow. Watch The Exorcist.
October 28: Pick a horror movie poster that's hanging on your wall - and watch that!
October 29: Pick out a movie from this year (2020) to watch!
October 30: It's "Frankenstein Friday!" Watch a movie featuring Frankenstein's monster.
October 31: Simply watch Trick r Treat ... Happy Halloween!
We definitely brought back a few of our favorite picks ... tried to come up with a few new concepts, and even asked fans to submit their own.
